The Council leases and runs a sports ground site containing the football field, changing rooms and the cycle speedway. They are accessible from the end of Larch Grove Underwood, adjacent to Llanmartin Primary School. The football facilities are used by Underwood Athletic AFC, our successful and well-supported local soccer club who currently play in the Gwent County League. They include shower and changing facilities for teams and match officials. The Council installed new hot water heaters in the showers in 2017. Underwood AFC can be contacted on 07468560783 and tweet here. The soccer field can be used informally for sport by the general public when not required for matches. The cycle speedway at the far end of the site is managed exclusively by the East Newport Cycle Speedway Club who can be contacted via their Facebook page. Toilet facilities for the sports ground were also installed in 2017.
