Farewell to a Long-Time Councillor

 Members of Bishton Community Council would like to extend a big thank you to Underwood resident and long-time Community Councillor Gillian Burton. 

Gillian has resided in Underwood for most of her life and has been a member of The Community Council for over forty years combined! During this time Gillian has volunteered as custodian to Underwood Community Centre, taking bookings, managing the money and above all meeting the users of the hall and developing relationships with residents and organisations within the community. 

Both the staff and members of Bishton Community Council would like to say a big thank you to Gillian for her commitment and long-term dedication to the council and the community. As most people know, community councillors volunteer their services for the betterment of their local community and Gillian has certainly proved herself to be an incredibly positive contribution to the community of Underwood. Gillian has now retired from the Council with plans to enjoy her home and her garden.
